Our Mission Buddies |
We had a great time visiting with the Howards Monday evening. We took them out to dinner and then just visited. They are really special friends from out mission. It was fun reminiscing and catching up.

Our score card. |
Wednesday we took Maddy, Davis and Joe out bowling at Big Al's. We had a lot of fun with them. Our form wasn't the greatest but we had fun. Joe actually got a strike! Willard did the best but he also bowled so hard that he fell down and hurt his back. I actually improved. Maybe we all will if we go more. We thought we would take them to Sandy Point, but they chose to stay and play plinko.

It was getting late so we got some lunchables and the kids came over and we got out the old slip n' slide and put the sprinklers on it and they had a great slide.

That was all that was exciting this week. Thank goodness for grand kids they keep up going.
I did learn something new this week. I went to Zamzow's to find out what was wrong with our fir tree because the needles were turning brown and I found out that it had scale and we had to treat it. Then I asked about my strawberries. They have beautiful foliage but no blossoms. I was told that I needed to add phosphorous to the ground. They were getting great nitrogen but were starving for phosphorous. So I added some so I help it will help them. Zamzow's certainly are good to help you. Also, I found out that to have good blueberries you have to had a lot of sulfur to the soil. They like a ph of 4 or 5. Also, the cane berries do better if you add a little sulfur to the soil. They like a ph about 7. I guess most of our soil has the ph of about 8 or 9. I am going to go back in the fall time to learn more about what I should do to prepare the ground better next year.
Saturday, Emily, my niece, came over and brought me a juicer and stayed to visit. She is moving to Orem for a year and then see where they land. I got hungery for my favorite cookies which are so easy to make and very filling but not to many calories. Holly told me about these. You take one box of Spice Cake mix and add to it 15oz can of pumpkin (small can) and mix together. I add a half of bag of chocolate chip and a walnuts. You bake at 350 for 20 min. It makes 24 cookies which don't spread. They are so good. They satisfy your chocolate, and sweet tooth.

Sunday we went to the old 23rd ward to hear Steve and Inger speak. They of course did a wonderful job. It was great to see all of old friends. When we left we noticed a note on our windshield that pointed out that we had a flat tire in the back. That is the second flat tire on that car. I am glad it had a problem now because we were only going to get 2 new front tires now I think we will get all new tires so we don't have to worry on our trip.
News of the family.
Valen and Zane left for the Jamboree. It is going to be quite an experience for them both. Zane is going up as a leader. They are going to New York and to the sacred grove, Washington DC and other great historical places in the east. I will be excited to hear about their travels
