Most all the week I was working on Holsinger stories for the Holsinger reunion. There were about 30 stories in all and I color co-ordinated the pedigree charts with the stories. Some interesting facts that I learned was that Captain Dunkin McVickers was George Washington pay master and was with him at Valley Forge and participated in the Battle at Trenton. That was the battle that the Continental Army crossed the Delaware rives on Christmas day and surprised and captured 900 Hessian solders. Also Purnell Huston was fought in the Battle of Trenton. I thought it was interesting that those two men fought along side of each other. He also was captured by the British when he was on a ship being transported. He was help captive for 7 months. I found excepts from his journal. It was quite fascinating. At the family reunion, Ben Holsinger, and Belle informed me that I can add the stories to Google Doc. and then anyone can access them if they want. That was exciting to know how to share them with interested family members.

We had the family reunion at our ward house on Friday. We never would have made it outside due to the heat. Dave and Sharon, Don and Ellen, Jim and Debbie came. We had a good time visiting. Jerry got sick at the last moment and didn't make it. Then our cousin Kern Holsinger and his Elizabeth came. It was great to see them again. Kern is one of my favorites because he reminds me of his Dad Uncle Franklin, so kind and warm.

Also, it was great to have Debbie's daughter Charline and her husband Jeff with their new little baby Jayden join us. Also, Tabelle came with her children and their father. Ben came a representative of Jerry's family. Corbin, Dave son came later and it was good to visit with him. I was so glad to see Emily and her 3 children before she moves to Orem this next week. Trenton came with his wife Martha and Nephi and Amber. Deborah, brought Cody and Haily who brought some balls and kept the younger ones occupied. I am so grateful for her help

Saturday after Anika's wedding I went over an visited with Jerry, Lauralie, Jared and John. We had a wonderful visit and I even showed the twins an app to use for their music. John and Jared both said they wouldn't mind helping me illustrate some of the stories. I hope they will because that would make them really special. Also, Jerry said that Mike has been called to work in the stake family history center. I am so excited for him and for us because he can certainly help us clean up our genealogy. Later on, Jerry came over to get a ged. com file and consented to join me in our efforts to clean up our files. I am so thankful for his and Mikes willingness to help. Because with the new update on Roots Magic, it shows we have quite a few errors.

All in all it was wonderful to see all of my family again. As we shared stories of trials of health and other things, I reflected that that everyone has crap happen to them in their lives. How we react to our trials depends on our personalities, age and experience. Each is different, not one person is the same, so I have no right to judge another. I should just love them and listen to others stories because I will know how it will affect my life. Such as I figured out why I turned to Genealogy during my mid-life crisis after I had a conversation with Betty. Thank goodness for families for they are a great support to me.
Saturday I went to the Temple to watch some of Inger's relative's children during Annika's marriage. She was so happy and he was a perfect match.

It was also great to see Misty and Jenny Shelton with their babies. They were so cute. However, all the Shelton grand kids all look about the same. It was great visiting with them and catching up.

Betty finally posted a picture from her trip to Hawaii. I guess it was nice to remember those carefree days.

Bryce at the concert |
Since Bryce had requested Rude Boys Dont Win before and several times
during the show, when they played the song as part of encore they
dedicated song to him. He got autographed CD, so he was excited.

Sarah writes. She seems so pleased with herself. Luckily this one was for daddy.

This definitely qualifies as a picture to save to show those pesky boys that she will date.
