This was a full week got some projects finished and accomplished some goals.
Monday, I taught the Bells piano lessons and later on I finished the baby layette for Norah, that I started on our last trip. I had a big ball of white baby yarn left over from the blanket and this looked easy and fast.

Tuesday, was senior citizen day at Fred Meyers and in July you get twice the points for gas, so we got a new camera. It is a Canon Powershot.SX50 HS. I just need to learn how to use it. I am excited to have it for our next trip.
That afternoon I went out to lunch with Kathy to Jakers. She told me about a wonderful book site where you can get free books to read It is call BookBub. It is so cool. They send you an email at least 3 times a week with free or cheap books that fits your interest. We had a great time. I love Kathy, I am so grateful that I got to know her at Directv.
After I got home I decided to finish the White Layette set that I had worked on during my vacation for Norah. I made a few adjustments and I thought it turned out well. This is the first Layette I have every made. What is cool, is that I found that I can read, or shall I say listen to my book while I crochet. I love it.
Wednesday, I went over to Suzy's and helped her with her genealogy and just visited with her. I really enjoy visiting with her. She is the same age and my mother would be and so I get a view of the world that my mother would have had. She and my mother have a few things in common. They both fell in love and married very handsome, but less than up standing army men. They were both war brides. However, she was raised in France and went to a Catholic boarding school which she hated and ran away. When she was caught, she was horribly punished. In fact, when other girls misbehaved they would remind them what happened to Susy. I love her stories. When I got home I decided to finish the Pink Layette set that I had been working on. This one didn't turn out at well. The pattern twisted but it will still keep Norah warm. I called it the candy cane look. It is isn't my best work.

Thursday was the 4th and Willard and I went to the Stake building to help with the stakes 4th of July breakfast. We helped prepare the pancakes mix and pour egg mixture in to pitchers so they could cook them outside on the grill. What was unique I thought, was how brother Thompson mixed the pancake batter in buckets. He had bought an attachment that went on his drill to mix the batter. It was really cool.
When we got home I went outside and picked my first blueberries ever. I was so excited that I even had blueberries. This is to fourth year they have been in and the first time I have pick blue berries. I did put bird netting over it and that helped keep the birds away. . I had 3 blue berry bushes but only one has done well. I think I am going to dig out the others and replace them next year.
That afternoon we went out to Soup& Salad with the Salsburys. We had a good time and it was nice to visit with both of them .They both served in the service. I really appreciated the service men especially those who have had leave their family and go serve. They come back changed. It is hard on them mentally and spiritually as well as physically.

Friday we got up and went to the temple. Then I met Betty for lunch at Cafe Rio. But first we went over to Best Buy to see about her laptop that she had gotten for Mother's Day. It failed to turn on when she went to work on her school work and Andy was gone. They told her it would take a few days just to see what was wrong. I felt so badly for her because she now has to redo some of her homework. I thing I learned from her experience, is that it would be best to buy a protection plan on electronic product that are using new technologies. Her laptop was a touch screen with Windows 8 and the geek squad guy had never seen the error. If it is the hardware she will get it replace for free but will be out a laptop for a couple of weeks. If it is a software problem it will cost her $200 to get fixed and it is only 2 months old!
While we were there I found a GPS on sale. I thought the price was well worth the price and it would certainly eliminate some heated discussions about driving instructions. We really saw the value of it when we were with Tobin. It thought it was a small price to pay for harmony and peace.
Then she was telling me that he and Andy made their own hammocks to take on their backpacking trip. . Hunter is a very gifted young man. He is so creative and brilliant. He just amazes me.
Saturday we just worked on the yard all morning. We are expecting the Howards on Monday so we were motivated to have our yard too nice. They are very good friend from the mission field. We finally go the garden area mostly weeded. Our yard is looking pretty good
Sunday I made the best and the easiest Baby Back Ribs. Willard got 3 lbs of ribs and I spit them up into 4 pieces. Then I sprayed 4 pieces of tin foil with Pam and put in a section of ribs which I had coated with BBQ sauce. So when I was done I had 4 nice foil wrapped ribs encased with BBQ. They marinated all night and when we went to church I turned on the stove to 275 and when we came home the meat was falling off the bone when I opened the package. I used the juices that were in the foil as a dipping sauce. It was so easy and easy clean up. I will definitely make again. Willard even liked them because they were so tender.

Deborah and Sarahs family went hiking and Buck carried the load. They also went to see a Rockys bases ball game .
Then I heard that Bryce knocked off a few second of his record at his swim race.

Betty and I had a great visit. I love talking with her because she always helps me see the world a little differently. She has such a keen mind and such a sweet spirit. She is going back to school to get her Bachelor in Nursing. I am very proud of her. Shealso told me that about Hunter and his development of a little camping stove. He is selling them on ebay of $5. They are quite unique. They are made out of a pop can and some how he has put holes around it and when it is lit the flame come out and you have a burner for about 10 min. The fuel that is used is alcohol. He has made a YouTube video on it. It can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cswe2n4j_YE&feature=youtu.
