5/20 to 5/26

This has been and up and down week.

Monday was a up day.  Willard and I decided we were just going to start looking for a car to replace the truck since our trip to Auburn is coming up soon.  So our first stop (and only stop) was at JFR Auto Warehouse right next the Jr. High by Deborahs.  Willard wanted to get a newer car with low miles on it. The first one was a 2012  Chevey Malabu and it was nice but not very comfortable.  Then we went and sat in the Chevey Impala. I was sold.  It was a 2012 with only 28,000 miles on it.  It was so comfortable.  They gave us $5,000 for our truck and knocked off about $1,000 on the car.   Well, I sort blurted out that I liked the car and Willard just gave me THE LOOK. Then Willard told the sales man that he wanted to talk to me in private about the car.  Well when we got alone, he told me that I had just lost his bargaining power by saying that I liked it.  I felt bad that I opened my big mouth.  Then I came up with a plan.  I would asked to use their computer to look up the consumer  reviews and then if they were OK then I would tell him we would take it if he would knock down the price $300, (Willard was hoping to get just another $150 off).  So after I checked and it has great reviews.  I asked for the $300 off.  He countered with $150. Then Willard said he would take it if he could make it $200.  The Salesman agreed and we bought the car.   When I got home I checked around and found that we got a reasonable price for it all.  I really love the car.  I can see a better and it actually fits into the garage.   It will be so nice to ride in on lengthy trips.
Our new Car.
Evidently,  all the activity of the weekend was to much for Willard because on Tuesday, his urine was filled with blood with huge blood clots.  When he called the doctor, they told him to drink a lot of water and to keep quite.  By the time we got to the Doctor's on Thursday,  the bleeding had almost stopped.  When he told the Doctor that it was still painful for him to set down, the doc for surprised and a little concerned.  Then they found out the he also has a UTI on top of it all.  So for the rest of the week I insisted that he stay in bed and read.  I am so thankful that he got the Kindle for Christmas because he has read 2 books just this week.  He is using Holly's rice bags, as Betty suggested, too bring down the inflammation but this time they are cold packs.   Once again I am thankful for that gift. It just keeps on giving. Next Tuesday, if he doesn't have anymore blood in his urine, the doctors is going to give him some anti-inflammatory medicine to help reduce the inflammation.  He has got only 2 1/2 weeks to get better if we are going to get to Auburn.

Wednesday and Thursday morning I went Visiting teaching and spent the rest of the day working on my Christmas Medley.  Friday I practice with Nancy and we went of the new pieces.  I only have to make a few corrections on "The Lord is My Shepherd"  But I need to redo about 12 measures.  It sounds different when we play together and some measures didn't sound right.  So it is back to the keyboard.  It is always an adventure to see what I can come up with.  I do love the challenge.

Since, Dad couldn't go the Moroni's graduation, Deborah graciously consented to drive me to it.  I really appreciate her willingness and sacrifice to take me. She has a hard time going to graduations. but her love for her Dad overcame her reluctance.   I am so thankful for her. What can I say about a Graduation.  It served it's purpose;  Moroni graduated. Martha and Amber were going to leave the next day to North Carolina.  They are driving across the country with Maratha's sister, to go see her dying father.
Saturday morning, our helping angels, Hunter and Garen came over to mow and help me with the weeding and watering.  Hunter found it much easier to mow, since the grass was dry.  He did a great job.

While Hunter mowed, Garen helped me weed and then he watered some of the places that the sprinklers keep missing. I really appreciated his help. A little bit of help goes a long ways.

I really am trying to keep on top of the weeds and watering.  I am hoping it will pay off in the amount of fruit we get.  I have already seen a blossoms on the Boysenberry bush!  That is a first for us.
Life is always an adventure.
