20/25 to 3/3

Not too much went on this week.  After radiation I went over to Terrie Gillenwater's to go through the music with her.  We had to meet over at her neighbors, Darlene Greathouse to practice because we could get to a piano.  Thank goodness I brought along my keyboard because I had to transpose it down a step so that it would be in tune with her piano.  Darlene played Nancy's harp part and then Marcella, her daughter who takes care of her and has a gorgeous soprano voice , sang the melody and Terrie sang harmony.  They sounded so beautiful that we added them to "Love at Home"  I know there will not be a dry eye in the audience when we get through.  I just hope I can keep it together so I can see my music.

After I got through I went over to Nancy's and showed her the results and she thought we should combine "Oh My Father"  and "Love One Another".  After some thought I totally agreed. It will be a really spiritual tear jerker.

Tuesday was the day for the doctors.  After radiation we waited around until 10:30 for Willard to see Dr. Radmussen, his heart doc. While we were waiting I saw Jan, Dr. Hodson's nurse, and I told her about my heartburn returning.  She told me that she would check with the Dr. and call me.  We then went over to Willard doctor and he told Willard that all was fine and he had his yearly blood test done.  Then we went to lunch and waited to see Dr. Cushman. He said that I was healing well and told me if I was sure I didn't want reconstruction that he could take of some of the skin that he had left and I wouldn't have to go to the hospital to do it.  I was excited about that.   We finally got home after 2.30.  Just enough time to decompress and then teach Hailey and Savannah lessons.

Wednesday, after radiation, I went visiting teaching with Diane Brower, to see Suzie Dyvad, and a new sister Krista Norton, a young mother who plays the piano beautifully. She also likes to compose, so we have a lot in common.  It was really fun to get to know her.  Then after that, I went to lunch at Applebee's with Betty and Deborah.  It was great to have an opportunity to sit and visit with them.   I really enjoyed the time with them.   Only Aubrey Andrew showed up to her lesson, and Willard was really feeling bad from his cold, so I told him we didn't have to go out.  I went over to Nancy's to practice so I wouldn't have to do it on Saturday.  We had a good practice and we are much more confident about the program. All in all I had a great birthday. I really appreciated everyone well wishes on Facebook. It was nice to be remembered.

Thursday was fun filled day.  After radiation, while I was waiting to have my bone scan, I happen to see Jan in the waiting area, and reminded her that I hadn't heard from her yet and she promised to get back to me.  She then informed me that I was at the wrong place for the bone scan and I quickly went to the Breast Cancer Care place.   Afterwards. I stopped into see Diane who had just gotten out of the hospital due to having a Kidney stone removed.  She was feeling a little better and wanted to get out of the house so we went to lunch again at Applebee's for my birthday.  It was great just to sit and talk.

When I got home I called back Jan who had called, and she told me to take Zantac twice a day to see if that would help with heartburn.  So I will try that.  The upside of having heartburn is that it sort of takes all the fun out of eating and so I have lost about 5 lbs. It also really helps to exercise.  I really do like Curves. It isn't hard to get up every day and go for 35 min. and get a workout.

Hailey Pole Dancing
Hailey came over after school, which always brightens my day.  When I called Deborah, to see if she could go to the park to see some over her friends, she told me that Hailey was really into pole dancing and was asking for a pole for her yard. So after Hailey came back, we went over to the park and she showed me some of her moves.  They have a pole club at school  and they have names for all their moves.  The only one I can remember is the Mermaid. She really can wind around the pole.

That evening Nancy took me to "Swan Lake" at the Nampa Civic Center for my birthday.  It was wonderful. One thing I really liked was that they changed the ending.  Instead of the Prince and his love dying at the end, they change it with  him killing the villain and lovers lived happily ever after.  It was fun to see some of the scenes with the music that I had only seen parts of before.

Friday, right after radiation, I went right over to Brownsfields to trade in one of my boobs.  I just felt that they were a little to big, so I just went down a size and now I feel much better.  The good thing is that now since I have a 6 and a 5,  if I want to be a little smaller, Dianne is going to give me her #4 boob. So I have some options of size.  It is nice to have options.

That afternoon I started my pruning of grapes and blackberries on the north side and then the raspberries on the East side.  The rest of the afternoon   I just kicked  back and worked on Sarah's baby afghan  and read my book for Book Club that I had to review.

Nancy came over Saturday morning to show me her new car that she had to get so that she could transport her new harp.  It is so fun reflected how a simple Christmast gift of a lap harp from her grandson in 2009 brought her to that point.  She enjoyed the lap harp so much that she started to take lessons.  But she soon found that she really needed to upgrade to a Lever Harp which fit into her car.  She found after a couple of years that the Lever Harp was quite limited in the music that could be performed. So  this November, she decided to upgrade to the Pedal Harp.  But of course, she needed to get a car so that she could transport it so her grandson bought her old car and she got a new Subaru. It is really a nice car. I am so excited for her.

That afternoon I again went out and finished pruning the east side of the fence. It feels good to get out and work in the yard.  I hope it is good next week.  I still have the grapes, the south and west sides to do.  Hey, it is just more exercise.  I came in and finished my book and taught Jane her lesson.
