Week 25 8/6 to 8/12

This week has been a game changer.
For some months now I have known that I had a lump in my left breast.  It suddenly appeared and so I thought I would wait and see if it went away but it didn’t.  It grew in size and begun to my armpit hurt.  I prayed and fasted about it and it just didn’t feel right to tell anyone until after Monday.
My first and last violin student.
On Monday Brother Gibson asked me to be up at the library and let the phone repairman in to fix the phones.  I waited all day but he never showed up.  But I did get a pair of Moccasin booties finished for Carrielynn Crank. Also, a niece of Jean Grayeyes came up for a violin lesson. She was in the 2nd Suzuki Book but still didn't understand  Later that afternoon, Kat came up to spell me and  Willard took me out to Anita Keith's to give her the yarn so that she could make my rug.  She had started on and it had all the right colors.  That night after prayers, I knew it was time to tell Willard.

Tuesday morning Evageline came up with Ryan to fill reapply for Social Security.  She handed me some forms thinking that they were sent by Social Security.  I informed her that they weren’t paper to reapply but to order a security program for the computer and advised her not to every sign any papers unless someone has read them to her.  She just needed to go to the Chapter House and to do  a video interview.  As I waited,  Willard came up because he was bored and I told him.  Of course, it was quite a shock and I felt bad that I had to give him such bad news.  Willard is so sweet, he felt bad that I had  felt that I had to go through this alone.  I love him so much.   We decided that we should ask Bishop Axline to administer to me and give Willard a blessing.  That night Bishop Axline gave me a wonderful blessing.  He said several times that I would be healed and blessed me that the medicines would work.   Willard felt much better after his blessing also.   Bishop Axline is such a sweet man and I know that he spoke for the Lord.  He asked me to call President Justice and tell him so that night I did.   We really didn’t know what our next step should be because I knew I needed a mammogram. I called Tobin and asked his advice and he said get it looked at NOW.  I so appreciated his kind concern.  My choices as I saw them at that time was,   I could go home and have it checked out or go to Flagstaff.  He suggested that I go see Chris Moody in Page and he could order a mammogram to be done at the hospital there.   I thought that was a closer option. But as I got through praying that night the thought came into my mind to go to Ben’s and have it evaluated there.  I thought there would be a better chance of finding a medical facility that would accept my terrible insurance

Wednesday I called Ben and he gladly consented for us to come and stay with him. Betty called and sort of told me what to expect.  It is so comforting to have children that can advise me.   I talked with Holly and she suggested one of her  doctors and I found that they were on the list of providers for my insurance.  So I called and it was a big clinic, when I told them what I needed that just assigned me a Doctor that could write the order of the mammogram and it just happened to be Ben’s doctor, Dr. Nebeker.  I have  an appointment to see him on Monday, 13 (our wedding anniversary) at 8:40AM.  I asked them if there would be a wait for a mammogram and they said there wouldn’t because these had one right there in the clinic.  I felt so blessed that all things were falling into place.

That afternoon I visited with Sister Booth and we discussed what boundaries are how we all need to identify our own boundaries and respect others boundaries.  After I understood what boundaries are and how to apply it to others and myself, I understood how they made us feel all feel safe and helped in relationships.  I really appreciated Sister Booth and her opening my eyes to new things.  That afternoon, I got a call from Rosemary Hill out of the blue.  She said she was just thinking about me and gave me a call.  I knew she had been prompted by the spirit to call me and I knew my Heavenly Father sent an angel to comfort me. He knew me and knew I needed to talk to a friend.

I called Pres. Justice and he said he really felt good about that decision.  I asked him if he got my Family History Report, and he said he did.  He told me that he was so grateful that I had sent it because when he was talking with some people from SLC from the church leadership they were asking him if the Family History Work had progressed any.  He was so happy that he had my report and showed  them the progress we had made in Kayenta.   That made my day.  I have loved serving here in Kayenta.  I wouldn’t have missed a day of it.  It is nice to know that perhaps you have made a difference.  Sarah called also and gave her loving support.   I know some won’t understand but I hope they will respect my right to follow the spirit as I feel directed.  I know that through the loving support of my husband, family and friends I will get through this trial and I will be better for it.   I know I will be healed.  How long it will take that depends on the Lord and how long it takes me to learn the lessons I need.

Thursday , I just tried to tie up all the loose ends. But then Sister Thin came in and needed a poster done and I taught her how to do a poster using Printmaster.  She was impressed at how easy it was.   Then when I it was teaching  Kat how to send of the report to SLC.  Bill Cly, Emily Smallcanyon and Carol Big came up to work on their family history.  It was exciting to have all those people there.   I had Kat help Emily and Bill wanted to work on his own.  Carol Big was just sitting there so I asked her if she would show me how to weave Navajo style.   I had Willard bring up my stuff and she showed me the beginning steps.   I was so thankful that the Lord was so kind as to grant me the small wish of my heart. For that kept me busy all the way to Kaysville on Friday. We went the Moab way and loved the different formations.

Saturday was Audrey’s Birthday,  and it was her first birthday party.  It was fun to be a part of her party.  Ben and Holly did great in keeping the kids happy and entertained.   After the party , Ben and Holly took the kids to Cherry Hill and we took Jake to lunch and then went to see the movie The Bourne Legacy.  It was fun to watch but a little week on developing the story line.  When we got home we taught Jake how to play golf and of course he won.

It was nice to attended church for only 3 hours on Sunday.  Some sisters played a beautiful violin duet.  It was good to be in a ward that was so well attended.  But the gospel is the same no matter where you attended and one can feel the spirit the same no matter where you attended if you prepare yourself properly.  I am so thankful for the church and the restoration of the priesthood.  I am thankful that Willard and our other sons hold it and can be a spokesman for the Lord and bless others.   It is a great comfort to know that I can turn to them when I need to.  Thank goodness for families and that they can be forever.

Audrey loved the doll Jacob gave her.

Later that evening we went for a walk on their green belt it was good to get out and enjoy nature.
