10th Week 4/23 to 4/29

The group of Elders and Willard at Montecello

Monday was the day that half of the mission went to the temple in Montelcello.  We took a truck full of missionaries.  We took our Elders Morales and Belnap and then the Zone leaders. It was quite something to be in a special session that the temple had just for the mission. The room was 3/4 full of men and then the other part were us sister missionaries.  Afterward, we had a wonderful lunch provided by some sisters.  Then I rode back with the Howards so that I could shop with them.Willard had to get back to get some tillers.
Willard with President Jones the mission President  who will be leaving in July

On the way back I had to take some pictures of some of my favorite mountains.
This is called the Mexican Hat Formation

These mountains are just right before Mexican Hat.  The funny thing is that I can't see the waves of the rocks until we are coming back that is because the evening light is hitting it just right.

I love the colors of the side of this mountains

This is a picture of Monument Valley going south as we traveled home.

I took this photo from Lela Chatter's home looking North to Monument Valley
Then we stopped at the Bob Blacks place out by El Captan

This is El Captain.  One of the highest volcanic Formations.

This is the Blacks garden.  Bob Blacks is a member of the Bishopric.

.
It is really quite an peaceful out there.
Marty and Brandon Bailey.  They almost can sit still at primary.
These are there grandchildren that live with them with their mother Bobby Bailey who recently divorced They were so proud of their puppies.

Tuesday I was going to teach family indexing to Julie Holiday but she wasn't not feeling well so Sister Howard and I made some wall hangings for Glindy and Kiara's baptism .

The left one is for Keirra and the right one for Glindy.  That morning it hit me that they needed something that would direct them toward the Savor.

The inside of the program

Wednesday I worked on Glindy and Kaira baptism program. Then Sister Howard and I met Evangeline at the flea market to get some turquoise to make some necklaces.

Sally at the Family History Center

Sally Singer came up to the Family History Center as I was working up there because my printer stopped printing black and there was nothing that I could do about it so I ordered a new one. The library had purchase a new colored printer so I was using the printer when Sally came up and wanted me to help her learn work and excel.  I didn't know much but found that the computer knows quite a lot.

The necklaces she made.

Thursday we worked hard on our posters and handouts for the Spring Yummy and the Teaching Blitz. Then Evangeline came knocking at my door when Sally was there for some more help.  She had made all the rocks I had bought into necklaces and earrings.  I am going to try to set up a blog for her so that if anyone wants to buy real turquoise Necklaces that can get them from her.  She going to sell the set for $35.  I suggested the name Evangeline's Turquoise Collection and the others that aren't Turquoise like the one on the bottom left, as part of the Southwest Collection. Most of them are about 18" long.

She is waring one of the necklaces that her husband made.  She most likely will have her baby this week.
Right after she left Glindy, Kaira and their mother came for piano lesson.  It was about nine before all visitors had left.

Friday, Sister Howard and I went up to the church to exercise and to work on the Spring Yummy Poster.  It took us 5 hours just to put it together but the Bishop was pleased with it.  Then the Crank's came up again so that I could get the pictures of the rest of the jewelry that she makes.

Saturday was the big day for Glindy and Kaira.
This is a four generation they are all related.  Ralpeleta in the brown and the lady in the purple are sisters. Glindy is their youngest sister.  The lady on the far left is their aunt. The two older ladies are are their grandmothers.  The lade in the back is Sister Tom's youngest sister.  After the baptism we all went over to Ralphleta's home and had Navajo Taco's.  It was good to visit everybody.  When I got home I went back up to the church to work on the Teaching Blitz poster and get everything ready for Sunday.  While I was up there the Bishop Axline informed me that Sister Black wasn't going to be there and asked if I could play for the First Ward too.   So I stayed to practice everything, that would include first and second wards music, the special number for First ward and get all the primary stuff printed out and organized.  I got home about 8 but I think it will pay off.

Our last Sunday dinner with the Zieglers
Sunday everything went off smoothly because I had gotten everything prepared. Second ward was so nice because Helen Singer spoke on Forgiveness (that is the theme for their ward).  She is this ancient older women who had such a great sweet spirit about her and the Nellie Tom got up and gave a talk.  She had been asked just minuets before I guess someone hadn't shown up.  I just am so impressed with their sweet simple testimonies. During the First Ward Sacrament, Brother Black stood up to announce the program and didn't even notice that there was no conductor.  I quickly leaned over to the Zielgers who were going to give their farewell talks and asked if one them would lead.  I don't know what they would have done if no one stood up to conduct.  Then    except in the 3rd hour of the first ward, Bishop Axline was going to do a presentation on all the things you can find on the internet about the church but he forgot his computer and Willard came down and got mine.  I tried to help them set it up and then it lost the internet connection and the Bishop just winged it.  I found out later someone had turned off the wireless connection.
