August 21, 2011

This week went by so fast. I think it was because I got up each morning to work on my talk for Church this week. Willard and I were asked to talk about the scriptures and how they influenced our lives. Of course, I worked diligently each morning writing it all out and Willard just thought about it. It is just amazing how he just gets up and talks off the cuff and really can deliver and inspirational talk. He spoke at Meadowlake and then at our Sacrament meeting. Both talks were really good but a little different each time. He really knows how to speak with the spirit. So many people commented on his ability to talk without any helps in front of him He really is amazing. My talk went ok but Dad was the star, which is just fine with me.

Wednesday night, Suzie ask us to dinner over at the Meadowlake Lodge, which is were we have our first performance on Sept 7. It was the chief's choice dinner, that had prime rib and chicken cordon bleu with a wonderful Zucchini dish and red potatoes and of course side salad. It was great and we had a good time.

Thursday night, Garren, Joe, Cody and Davis came over and spent the night. They had a good time play Frisbee baseball, which we made up, building stuff with the Lego's and watching a Transformer movie. I don't know when they fell asleep but I know Willard went in at two to quite them down. When we went to bed they were all in the living room but in the morning this is what I found. Garren is under the blanket and pillows.

This is Davies creation.

Joe with his blackberry smoothie mustache. Joe brought over his new Ukelele and I tried to tune it but found the wrong tuning chart on the web and broke a string so on the way home we got a new string and it was tuned right and now they have a book to learn how to play it. That brings back happy memories when my friends all played our Ukelele's for a Ward party. I hope he has as much fun as I did with it.

Friday night Jerry , Lauralie. Jim and Debbie came over for dinner and we had a good time catching up. It was exciting to me because Jerry is getting interested in family history. It is wonderful, that now we have more time to spend on family things. However, as I was showing him my family story book, I was reminded of all the work I need to complete. I have got to get to work on that. I just need to set aside 2 hours each day to work on it.

I also need to spend about 2 hours a day practicing for our group and I am right now trying to arrange an accompaniment to play with Nancy with the Christmas song. Then today Rosemary Hill wants us to play "Silver Bells" and she sing it and Brother Thomason, who is an retire music professor, join in the Guitar. So I have got to get that arranged. It may sound like a lot of work but it is fun.

My garden is producing a lot and need to keep up with it. Now all the blackberries, loganberries and Morgan berris are coming on. I picked a gallon of them on Saturday. At least I will have berries to eat. Yum' I went out on picked beans and I got over a quart so I will have to can some tomorrow. Our tomatoes are doing great. I made the best tomato sauce and cooked Zucchini in it and topped it mozzarella cheese and added cottage cheese to it for a cream mike taste. It was really good. It is fun to explore all the possibilities of having a garden.
