February 6, 2011

This week has been pretty laid back because I had a bad cold and came home early on Wednesday and stayed home on Thursday. I was glad I did because I got over my cold a lot quicker. I did go over to Laura's had help her clean her home. I found our how to get silly puddy out of blankets. Laura seem to be doing a lot better. She went to a new doctor who is really giving her some good direction. She is treating the whole person which is just what she needs. I am so thankful that she finally found a Dr. that is interested in helping her.

Then on Thursday, Laura called and asked me if I wanted to join her office for some lunch at the new Great Wall and I was feeling better by then and joined Willard and Laura for lunch. All in all it was a great day. Especially because I didn't have to work overtime. On Wednesday, we had a little surprise. When we opened up our schedules DTV has add 1 hour overtime to everybody's time card. I knew with the way I felt I couldn't be very successful. On Friday I worked overtime, but by then I was able to think. It is strange when you are all plugged up so is your brain.

I got 4 more stories done. But in doing them I learned something. I did Abraham Teeter and Elizabeth Shively done. Then I did Christian Schaublin (Shively) and sent it off to Don and he mentioned that I needed to add some references, so I went back and checked my work and found that I had made a mistake and looked into my original reference and started again on his story and I found more information on his father Dur Schaeublin and I discovered that Christian's mother had died the same day he was born but there was another Anne that was born after Christian but no mention is made of another marriage. So I am hope Don will look into this when he gets over to Switzerland. After completing Durs and his son Christain's story, I went on to his sons Ulrich Schaeublin who was Elizabeth's father. So now I think I have taken care of the Shively family. It was fun finding pictures of Switzerland where they were from.

Today was scout Sunday and Cody was so proud of his scout uniform. We picked them up for church because someone gave Deborah and Buck a free motel room and so that had a good get away date. While they were gone some very good caring friends had pitched in together and bought them some great furniture for their living room. They were quite shocked and pleasantly surprised. It is so good to know that there are so many people out there that act on inspiration and are willing to help out their neighbor.

Today I finally wrote to Helen Stephens something I have put off for too long. She is a dear friend that is going to be turning 96 on the 19th. I called her and just let her talk because she can't hear me. So I listen and delight in her spunky attitude. I hope I grow up to be just like her.
