February 27, 2011

This has been quite a week. Between work and piano lessons, I exercised and worked on my crocheted projects. Then Wednesday I took green time again and went and bought a new modem with more Ethernet ports so that we could use the On Demand and whole home features on our Directv. I really wanted to know how it all worked together. Well it took me 3 hours to get the modem working on all the computers. Then I called Directv because I couldn't get the application direct2pc to work. After, 2 hours, I figured out the program wouldn't recognize my CPU then I asked why Dad isn't getting the 511 (that is spanish HBO) and found out that, when they installed my whole home system they took down my 5 LNB dish and put up a 3LNB swim dish and it doesn't get the 119 satellite. So I called Directv and they set up a service call for a dish to be brought out. Then on Saturday, the tech called and said I needed to order the 5LNB swim dish because they were short on them. Of course, when I ordered it they couldn't promise that I would get one. Now I know why people get so upset with Directv!!!!

An interesting think happened last Sunday when I was working cleaning up the family lines. I was quite surprised to find Willard Grandfather on the Shortridge line. Discovered that Willard and I are 6th cousins through the Thomas Wilson line. So my kids are related to themselves.

Friday after work I took Rosemary Hill out to Soup N' Salad (my favorite place) and then on to see the show "Footloose" at Centennial High. Caroline Bremmer, who is in our ward and that I taught piano lessons to, had one of the leading parts. It was really good and we both enjoyed it very much. (Dad had the Blue and Gold dinner that night) Deborah and I were going out shopping for a dress for Taylor wedding, but her car had problems and it needed a new water pump, so I went out shopping by myself and had a very relaxing time shopping for a dress and a new wig. Then when I got home Dad took to out to Golden Corral. Then we watched Gulliver's travels, (Willard fell asleep about 15 minuets into the move and then I watched "The Karate Kid". I enjoyed both.

Sunday was good, after church, and choir, the girls and family came over and wished me a happy birthday. I made them let me take pictures. That was my birthday present. Then Ben, Jacob, Joe, Tobin and Sarah called so my quiver was full because I talked with Trenton yesterday. I got to talk to Audrey and Jane on the Web camera. It was so good to see them. Joe couldn't get his to work. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing the kids. I so hope they will get transferred to Hill AFB. Ben and family are coming for the wedding, so I am very excited. All in all it was a great birthday. Only 2 more years until I am 65 and then only one more year to work. Boy, I just can't get old fast enough.
