Trenton was able to get his van fixed and so the family was able to come We all got to enjoy each other company. We got to hear all about Betty's fall into the stream. Hopefully they will post it on facebook.
The kids enjoyed being with each other. They played on the tramp and in the water. Food was good and everyone got their fill.
This week was great because I went down to help the new ACE agents. They were taking calls for the second week and so I just had to help them find the policies that they needed in DORIS. Actually it was very helpful because I learned a lot there also. It was good to get back to basics.
On Friday Jane came over for her sleepover. We went to the movie Shrek 4 and then went to Desert Book Store and then to the temple where we took a lot of pictures. Then finally to Burger King for dinner. When we got home she wanted to watch a movie and play with the I touch. Grandpa got up and fixed her breakfast and she hung out while Willard cleaned the kitchen and I pick the strawberries, raspberries and a few blueberries. ( Go to Facebook to see all her cute pictures)
Then Sarah picked up Jane so we could get some things done on our day off. Later Betty called and invited us for an impromptu BBQ at Sandy point. We went with Betty, Andy and their boys plus Sarah and her kids and the Bolt kids. It was great to hang out with the family. It was hot but the breeze helped a lot . Betty took Reynolds and Jane out to the fountain and they couldn't get enough of it while Andy slaved over the hot coals providing us with a tasty BBQ. Then Joe enjoyed being buried in the sand and Hunter got all the kids co-operation in building a series of pools.
Today is Tobin's birthday.
Oh how I remember his birth and what joy he brought. That was the only time I got to have my mother come and help with a baby. As I look back how fortunate I was to have her come because she died 6 months later. I know she was thrilled to be there. She was such a help but was always very careful to give me the space that I needed to learn how to be a mother.Learning how to take care of a new baby wasn't easy especially when Dr. Stoddard who was by Dr gave me some very poor advice (but it was an excepted practice in those days) about putting him on a 4 hr feeding schedule and not to deviate from it. He was not very happy about that but he soon complied but I lost my milk in the fight. However, his sunny disposition wasn't damaged. He was always my little sunshine boy. His smile and laugh are infectious. He still keeps life fun for those around him.
