7/28 to 8/4 Still on the road

We left Colorado Springs on Monday morning and got there by noon and watched the kids while Sarah went to her  6 weeks check up.   We enjoyed spending the time with the children.   I worked with Jane on her piano and caught her up on all the things that are hard to teach over Skype.
Tuesday morning after Jane practiced and Sarah finished her work out we all went to their association  pool.  It is such a nice pool..
It was just the right tempeture
Willard opt to not to swim but take care of Nora.  He  really got her smiling.

Sarah told me that to go a ½ mile that it was 30 laps so I did 30 on Tuesday ,Thursday  and Friday then Friday evening  she told me that it was really 32.  So on Saturday I did 68 laps.  So I backstroked  almost 2 1/5 miles in 4 days.  I found that the first 10 laps were the hardest then once my body got used to the activity, I just didn’t get as winded.  I am looking forward to the Axiom by Big Al’s that is going to have a full size pool.  I do love to swim.

Tuesday night we went to  Golden Coral.  That is Jane’s favorite place to eat.  A funny thing happened on the way.  As we were on the highway leaving the house, Reynolds speaks up and said he forgot his shoes and wants us to turn around and get them.   When  Sarah asked him why he didn’t get them he said “I thought I had them on!”  We looked around the car and I found a pair of old red slippers that barely fit him.  It took a lot of convincing him that it was his only option if he wanted to go in and eat.

I definitely felt that we got our money’s worth.  Jane and Reynolds can certainly put away their food.
On Wednesday, we decided to go to the movies because we were all pretty burnt from the 2 hours at the pool the day before.  Sarah found a theater that was low cost and we went to see Monsters University.  This was Alice’s first move.  She  got up several  times because the monsters sort of scared her.

Ready for the movies

Friday after Jane practiced and Sarah did her morning workout we lathered up and went to the pool. This time we were more careful with the sun.  Jane and Reynolds are really progressing with their swimming.  Alice is quite something.  She is fearless with her water wings.  She will go any place. I even found her trying to do the backstroke. She is just amazing.   Sarah went shopping while we watched the kids.  She came home so proud of all the food she got for $30.  She really is a shopper.

That evening we all went downstairs to tryout Andrew’s new gym equipment that he got a great deal on.  First we had a hanging contest.  I couldn’t believe Reynolds hung on for 1.16 and Andrew topped him at 1.30?

I couldn’t believe Reynolds is so strong.
Willard did a total 2 crunches  which I was amazed at.I could barely do 2.

Then they had a plank contest.  Reynolds beat everyone even his dad.  He is incredible!

Saturday we all went to Home Depot for the Kids day.  Every first Saturday they have a project that the kids can build.  This day they had little trucks that they could build.  Each of us took a child to help because Andrew was shopping for parts to fix the sink that was leaking.  I was impressed with the quality of the kids and how they were within a child’s capability.   Alice really enjoyed the painting of the truck.

Alice was so pleased with her paint job

Then we all went to Costco to get things for the family lunch.  They had so many samples that we were full and didn’t require lunch.  That night we went swimming again.  We almost had the pool to ourselves because there it was quite storming.  It was calm when we were there  but when we got home it started to rain in torrents with thunder and lighting.

Sunday was the blessing of Nora.  Andrew parents and family were there  and Joe came up.  Pam, Andrew made the most beautiful blessing dress.  Of could we took a lot of pictures.

After church we all meet back at Sarah’s.  Before lunch Jane and I played 3 pieces that she had worked on.  I was very proud of her because she had only worked on them 6 days but was really motivated to do well for her family.

After that we had lunch.  Sarah fixed Pam chicken salad sandwiches that were really good.  The children had a good time visiting.  After lunch we packed up and heading for Kaysville.
