Life is Good Again!

2/4 to 2/10

Things that got resolved:
I went to see Dr. Mederious on Monday specifically to talk with him about being on CPAP because Medicare requires it. Well I had so many issues that I forgot to talk about it but called back later and had him add it to the notes so that my CPAP Equipment will be covered by Medicare.

He put me on twice the dose of Prilosec but wrote me a prescription for it.  So instead of being $34 it was only $1.30.  The added pill seems to be working well with the modified diet.  It is wonderful not to have heartburn.

Since I got the heartburn under control my burning urethra is subsisting.  Dr. didn't think they were contacted but I think they are.

I saw Dr. Cushman's nurse Debbie and she gave me some bigger bandages, but I only leaked once.  On Friday, it almost stopped all together.  YEAH!

Things that were exciting!
On Thursday when Hailey came over and I practiced with her, she actually MATCHED PITCH  when she was playing and singing along with her piano piece  "Old McDonald had a Song"  I was so excited. It was music to my ears.  Playing the piano is going to help her in many ways.

Also,  I am going to get me Drain out Monday Morning!  I now can move on with my life. Life is good!

Things that were fun:
On Thursday, Dianne, Nancy and I went out to dinner at Applebee's.  It was great to get together and talk.  I like Applebee's because it has a varied menu that fit all of our special dietary needs.

After, that I went to Nancey's to practice on our duets for the Something Special Luncheon in March.  It was great playing with Nancy on her new pedal harp.  Boy, it has so much more sound.  I don't have to play to quiet.  In fact, she was complaining that she can't hear me due to the sounding board is right next to her ear.  I am so thankful for Nancy and her confidence in me to write and accompaniment.  I am grateful for the opportunity to develop the small talent that I have.

Nancy told me at dinner about the Boise Philharmonic accompanying some silent movies at the Egyptian Theater on Friday night.  Since her car was full, I called Elzada Simmons and we meet Nancy there.  It was really wonderful.  The Philharmonic accompanied two silent films, the first was a Charlie Chaplin movie called the "Immigrant"  It was delightful. What surprised me that when he smiled he had really perfectly bucked teeth.  No wonder he wore a mustache. The other one was called "Cops" staring Buster Keaton.  The other two films were accompanied by the organist from New York who had arranged all the music.  His playing was fantastic.  He played with no music and just by the light of the key stops.  One interesting note: Is that Boise is one of 45 cities that has the original organs that was use for the movies.  I can't say much for the other 2 films because they had a poor story line.  I can see why Charlie Chaplin was the best.  He definitely knew how to tell a story.

It was so much fun being in the Old Egyptian Theater.  It had been many years since I have been there.  It brought back so many fond memories of going to the movies and sitting in the balcony when I was a kid.  I actually sang with one of my school Choirs for Easter on the Stage there.

I always fantasized what it would be like to have a box seat there.

Things that I got accomplished this week:
I read 2 books. I finished the 2nd book of the Worlds without End series. The Mission is the first and the second on is Aftermath.  It is a LDS science fiction series written my Shaun Messick who is the Vice Principle at Shelley High School in Shelley Idaho (Willard's Home town).  It was a page turner for me.

The second book was a LDS love suspense novel called  Hidden in the Heart by Roseanne Wilkins. It was a nice sweet tender novel with a little suspence.

This is the first page for Amazing Chase
I got Bryce's piece "Amazing Chase" all notated. I am waiting to hear from Bryce how I did.

After practicing with Nancy, I finally dug in and worked on the  accompaniment to  "I'm Trying to be like Jesus".  I finished the first draft Saturday afternoon.  I will continue to tweak it as we practice it.  I can hardly to hear what it sounds like.  It is always different than just listening to it on the computer.

My Concern:

I talked with Sarah this week and she said that she had a biopsy of some skin on her nose.  She will know if it is skin cancer this week.  Sarah is so much like her mother, she noticed a spot on her nose changing but it took a good friend of her's to notice it and encourage her to go see the Dr. to see if it was pre-cancer.  Thank goodness she will know this week.  She has such fair skin and loves to be out of doors.  She is in our prayers.
