12/10 to 12/16

Joe, Davis, Maddy, and Jaelynn
Monday was a great day.  I finished five more scarves for Nancy so I got that out of the way.  Which was good because it kept me from bothering Jacob while he made calls.  Jacob came down on Sunday and it working from home.  It is really nice to have him here.  Then Laura's kids and Jaelynn came over after school for a visit.  It was great to see them and catch up on all that they are doing.  They are such sweet kids.

Then we meet Ben and his family at Soup and Salad for dinner.  The kids are such a hoot do watch. It was so funny to watch Amelia just run circles around Ben at the dinner because she just needed to expend some energy.   They are such hams and love to dance.

My throat was still just a little sore but there were so many people that were praying for me that I knew it would feel better.

Tuesday was the big morning.  When I woke up my throat felt fine.  I was so relieved.

When I got to my room to wait for surgery, the Chaplin came in.  His was Korean but he had chosen Ben for his name because it was easier to say.   He had brought his guitar and sang some Christmas songs.  It really meant a lot to me.  Then Deborah and Laura came in because they finally found out that we were back there.  Then he had us sing one more song.  Feles Navidad.  Deborah was on the shakers.  We really rocked.  We made an impression on the flood because someone came an shut the door.  But my nurse said we sounded wonderful.  I couldn't think of a better way to start this whole surgery thing than singing and having fun with my family.

My nurse then asked me if I wanted something to relax me and I declined because I was really relaxed but Deborah insisted that I take the drug.  The nurse said it would take about 30 sec to kick in but really it took only 15 sec.  I hear Deborah asked who was my favorite child was and I named a few and was out.  I didn't even know my own husband.   I woke up  5 hr.  I was only suppose to be there for an hour but it took me 2 hrs to wake up because I was just tired.

The family visiting.
The family was great and they all came up to visit me.  Hey and they even agreed to me taking a photo.  Hey sometimes you have to milk a situation.

My beautiful flowers and balloons
I so appreciated to lovely flowers I got from  Frances and Jay Bolt, Laura's in law's,  Diane and Richard Salsbury, Kersleys, and the Balloons from Rosmary Hill.  They all lifted me and put a smile on my face.   Also, I am so thankful for those who have provided dinner for the guys,  the Kersley's, Branches, and Nancy Cotter. We have such sweet sisters. in the ward.

Today Anne and Jen Mecham came over and played "O Holy Night"  that they played for church today.  Oh how I love to hear such beautiful music.   Anne did really well for only playing for one year. I really appreciate their thoughtfulness.

I also really appreciate Deborah will all her vast experience and help with my drainage tube.  Right now I have 4 drainage tube that have to be emptied twice a day.  She had got Willard past, throwing up and Willard now can handle it.  But I appreciate her working on my tubes to get the clots out.  The next picture is a little gross but Sarah requested a picture.  I get 2 of the middle ones out tomorrow.  It will be nice only to have 2 of them.
All in all I feel good as long as I move slow.  Not one of the things that I am known for.  There is all kinds of things that I am learning.  One of the most important thing is how important my family is to me and their support and concern.  I love them all so much.
