December 18, 2011

It is Christmas time and like everyone else I was busy. Monday night I had a piano recital. I had 11 students that participated and 25 number participating. Jackson Bell, Sierra Willits and Emily Arvizu got their Excellent Musician Award. To earn the award they had to perform a piece from each period of music. Ashton and I performed the duet the Sugar Plum Fairy that I arranged and Sleigh Ride. It was great fun playing with him. Jackson Bell decided to work for it in November and he had both pieces memorized for the recital. He is one awesome young man. I was really proud of Jalene Montros, who is adult that just started with me this fall. She played so beautifully.

Trenton stopped by after he put Martha in the hospital to check out her seizures and he volunteered to take Minnie. Well when he got her home, they let her escape and haven't seen her since. Willard was quite upset. He really did love that cat.

Tuesday I went to bookclub. It was nice visiting with the ladies. I didn't get time to read the book but it sounded really good. It was a short book called "The Paper Bag Christmas by Kevin Alan Milne."

Wednesday we had our last performance at the Stake Senior Sisters luncheon. It was cold in there and my hands just couldn't get warm and so my fingers didn't work very well. Then I called Betty that afternoon and she reminded me that Garren's concert was that night. She was rushed and really feeling rushed so I made spaghetti and Linda's breadstick. (Just a side note. Tonight I felt in the mood for Cinnamon Rolls and tried the breadstick recipe without the seasonings and just used the dough and made the Rolls. They did take about 10 minuets longer to bake but turned out good) We really enjoyed the orchestra. They had the high school orchestra come and play. They sounded wonderful. Garren did very well. His orchestra had a very good cello section and they all played very well in tune.

Thursday,I spent 5 hours helping Suzie with her genealogy. I was hoping to get it all done but I still am going to have to go back on Monday to finish it up. She had this wonderful display of all her Christmas things from France. She has so much energy for a 89 year old .After that I just sat round working on my different projects. I finally figured out how to make the toothbrush rug. It is only the third time I have taken it apart to get it right. Then when I get tired of working on that, I started to crochet a tote bag using plastic sacks. I have got to get more plastic sacks. In between that I am still working on Summer's baby afghan.

Last Monday, I got a shock. I received a notice from my insurance about how much they paid and how much I owed. Now this was for the appointment for 9/31. They paid $225 which left me owing $550. I was shocked at how much it cost with little insurance. I found that just to get my INR taken it cost me $63 just to get my finger stuck! That doesn't count the $100 that the insurance will pay. To say the least I was floored and very upset because I didn't know what I was going to do when we went to Tuba City. I then remembered that President Justice said something about a Dr. in Page that was very helpful to the missionaries. So I got his name from Sister Olson and called the office he works for. Cres Moody is a PA for a Family clinic. The receptionist told me that he would do my INR for free and I would just have to pay for the strip and the gas to get to Page. But we will have to go there anyway if we wanted to shop at Walmart. What a relief and a miracle. The Lord certainly has blessed us.
