July 31, 2011

Boy, am I getting lazy. It has been two weeks since my last entry and I need to catch up so I don't get further behind. The week of 18th Brittney came and stayed with us for that week. It was fun having her here and she was really easy to have here. She did an excellent job of cleaning and keeping Willard company. Also, we didn't have to worry about running around in our underwear.

We then went to Blackfoot for the Hill family reunion. It was great! It was the first time all the brothers and sister were together except Mario. It was great to hear all their stories and meet some of the spouses and children that we had never met before. Adriane was there with her family and we got to met her husband. He was really nice and very fun to talk with. It was good to see Lola but she was in such poor condition. She had recently suffered another stroke and so her speech was slow and she had a hard time walking. She can hardly eat anything because she is allergic to so many things. She just was so frail looking. The Roger was a surprise. He had lost 40lbs and still loosing. He was such and inspiration.

It was fun to watch Jacob with Ben's kids. He was a real pro at handling Amelia and Audrey. He will really make a good dad. The experience that he had living with Ben will really pay off in the future.

Sunday we went to the cemetery and visited the headstone with Jacob, Ben and family. Then to the park and they visited the park bench that was donated in the memory of Mark and Leonora Hill. It is a lovely little park on the corner in Shelly. I am going to post more pictures on Willard's facebook because mine won't let me do it since I changed my email address.

Then last week I decided to just stay home and only go in on Friday to finish up there. So I took the week just relaxing, practicing and working in the garden which take a lot of time. We are starting to get some tomatoes, cabbage, zucchini and bean. The peas are about done and so are the raspberries. The Boysenberries are starting to come on but there isn't much this year because this is the first year. But we will have a ton of Blackberries when they come on. Also a lot of spaghetti squash. My strawberries are really great. They are nice big berries and I love strawberry shortcake.

Tuesday we went over to Betty's and helped her clean up her house for the final inspection. and on Wednesday we practiced together for the first time with Nancy at the harp. I am so excited because it really sounds good. I have been working on getting music for Christmas programs. That is my next big project.

Friday I went into work and then retired. It was quite funny. I had to get off the phones at 1:45 to do my exit interview and as I left I waved to all my fellow workings and they all started clapping. It was great!

Saturday night we took Maddy to see the institutes production of "My Servant Joseph" It had some good music but it was kind of slow. Maddy was a trooper and stayed awake through the whole thing. Then we went out for ice cream.

So now I am officially retired. What do I plan on doing? Be of service to my children, volunteer at the school of some of the grandkids, work on family history, work on music with the trio, practicing ( I need to put in about 2 hrs a day) learn how to play the violin, read a lot of books. By the way, I just finish the first and second books of the Hunger games. I just have to find the third one to read. I really enjoyed those books. Anyway, I think I will be able to keep myself quite busy. I am excited about the future. We won't have much money but a lot of time.
