May 15, 2011

This has been a trying week. I got a Zero on a call. If I get another one within 6 months I will be fired. I did get a 1 on my next call. They haven't picked a jury yet so I am still in the pool and will have to call in on Monday to see when I have to go in. It will probably be on Tuesday during the time when Willard and I are scheduled to work the Election poles.

Willard worked hard on the garden and the yard so it would look nice for the dinner group. We go almost everything planted. Now if it will all grow. I saw that my Pole beans are going to be sprouting any time now. The radishes are up and I even see some little carrots. Funny thing about the strawberries that are right by my back door that the birds plants. They are so big right now. I know I will be having berries soon from these plants. I wonder why they grow so much better on that side of the house and they are in the rock beds.

The dinner group turned out well. First Nancy Cotter said that she couldn't come but then Brittney showed up and wanted to hang out so we had some one to fill her seat. Willard fixed almost all the dinner. He barbequed steak and then cook salmon. He fixed the baked potatoes and I did the salad and the dessert. We had the sugar-free Banana Split dessert.

On Saturday, I went to Nancy's harp recital. Her grandson gave her a lap harp and she started lessons and now has purchased a larger harp. I am so excited for her and for the ward because that is just another instrument for solos for the ward. After that I went to Eva Harvey's for a little sisters luncheon. She loves to entertain when she is feeling good and she is finally feeling much better. After that we went over to Betty's and helped her

wash her blinds and windows. We were tired after all that. Willard was so tired he got a little active during his sleep and fell out of bed again. I guess I might have to look into a guard rail.

I got a picture of Valen at the track meet from Linda. She wrote "He ran the Sprint Medley and brought his team in with First Place!" It brought back memories when we went up there for a visit when he was younger and he was so active on all the playground equipment. I could see that he had natural talent. Of course, he gets it from the athletic genes in the family. (I know there are some, some place)
