Monday and Tuesday were the same as usual with piano lessons but I did have some good talks with my girls got some thing ironed out for the weekend. Then on Wednesday I stopped at Lowe's, after I went to the temple, and got some pansies which I love. I also got some spinach, cabbage, lettuce, and poles for the raspberries.
Thursday was really fun. I had called Laura earlier in the week telling her that Willard and I wanted to pick them up and take them out for a surprise. I didn't tell her or the kids what we were going to do. When the kids got into the car, we told them that we were taking them to Fred Myers and they were going to pick out things for their parents to Easter and b
uild an Easter Basket. Then Maddy would hide them and surprise them on Easter Morning. I told them that we weren't going to pick out things but they had to decided what they wanted to get them. I took Maddy and we gathered up things for Laura and then I saw Willard and there wasn't one thing in his basket. But Davis had gotten to the right department. When we found the hardware section it was pretty smoothly. We also picked up some cookies to bake and some crackers. Then we went to DQ and Maddy built the baskets. She did such a great job. She really has an eye for arranging things. When we got home Maddy went around back and hide them in the garage while we went in. Laura asked the kids what they did for two hours. They told her that I did some grocery shopping and we gave the cookies and crackers. I was so proud of them that they kept it all a secret.
Laura said that after the children found their baskets that they asked them to shut their eyes while Maddy got the baskets. Laura said that she thought they had gotten something at the Dollar store for them when they went on Saturday. When they opened up their eyes they were shocked and very pleasantly surprised. That was the most fun I have had in a long time. It is true it is better to give than receive and even more when it is totally unexpected.
Friday we worked in the garden and planted the flowers and vegetables. I love my tulips that came up from the temple that I got last year. They are early tulips and are a welcome sight. I do love the flowers. Willard had to stop because he is getting his headaches again, which worries me.
Saturday, right before we went to the Easter Egg hunt at Laura's we got a text message saying that Holly was in labor. So we were all excited about that. The kids had a great time at the Easter Egg hunt. Laura put money in with the eggs and the kids loved it. It was so nice this year that no one was crying because of what they didn't get. Also, it is Hailey's birthday on Monday, so we took the opportunity to celebrate her birthday with the family then.
Since Deborah had games all day, Brittney called and asked to hang out. So she came over a hung out. We made pumpkin bread and he introduced me to Mumford and Sons which is an English folk rock band. I liked most of their songs and then I saw another English band called Noah and the Whale. They are Indie folk, which I have never heard of but I do like the music. Brittney and I both really like it. I think I would like to get the album, First Days of Spring. Brittney really liked "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N", from their new album Last Night on Earth. What I liked about them was the orchestration and the words were good and understandable.
While Britteny was hear, Kathy Hanney came over to talk genealogy and get some information from me.
Early this morning we were wakened by Ben telling us that Amelia had arrived at 1:19 am. She was 6 lbs 11 oz and 19" long. She had a lot more red hair and more Parkin features that Audrey. We were so relieve that she had finally came. Then earlier this morning Ben called to tell us she was having a hard time keeping her oxygen level up and we were quite concerned. But this afternoon he text that she was doing better much
to our relief. Now I have to get busy making her blessing dress. So I hope that I will get greentime and jury duty won't interfere with those plans.
I think when Willard called Jacob, it looks like he got the job at the college, which we are excited about. He will know for sure on Tuesday. By getting this job he will be able to get a discount on tuition and finish his degree. We are so proud of him.
