April 120, 2011

This has been sort of a quite week also. The weather has been cold and rainy so not much was done on the garden. But not the Willard is officially fully retired I know that will change and it will be better weather next week. So I can get my peas and spinach in.

Work has been very stressful. There are so many calling because of the poor economy and I have to come up with some way for them to enjoy TV for less. And then they are demanding that we put in 8 hours of overtime in the next 4 weeks. It was a surprise when we got to work that they had put in for me to work 2 hrs. this weekend. I did almost 2 hrs but left early to go to the Family History Seminar.

The seminar was well worth cutting out early from work.. I only got to attend three classes but they were very interesting. I attended one on how to clean up old photos. Then on internet tips which was really good and the other one was on using Roots Web. It inspired me to get working after I get all my other projects finished. I wish I had the code ROOTS 3812 and I could have gotten the program and the book for $20 instead of $45. If anyone is interested use the code and get a great deal.

I was excited when I got an email from Linda telling me about Bryce. I quote " Last October our family visited the Tacoma Glass Museum with our Guatemalan friend and exchange student, Rodrigo. During our visit, Bryce entered a children's art contest. He drew a picture and hoped that it might be chosen as the inspiration for a sculpture. Honestly, none of us thought much of it at the time. Imagine our surprise when we received a phone call the following month letting Bryce know that his picture was chosen out of 150 other entries to be made into a glass sculpture for the museum! Bryce and the family was invited to artists studio last November and Bryce got to advise and participate in the 3-D creation of his picture entitled the Crystal Horn Dragon. Although the sculpture was completed during our two hour visit, it has taken several months to go through the final process. Bryce just received it last month. Two sculptures were made. One was given to Bryce to take home and the other was given to the museum where it will be part of a special exhibit of children's art and eventually part of a traveling art show. This has been such a wonderful experience for Bryce. Here are some pictures of his sculpture the day it came home." I am so proud of him for participating and having such a great imagination.

Then she also sent a picture of Zane in his first suit and taking out a girl to the LDS Prom. Doesn't he look happy! Boy is growing up so fast and soon will be off on his mission. Than I heard from Ben all excited that they got a beautiful upright piano that had been her mother's uncle's piano. I am so excited for the.

Then I will leave with this note of contemplation. I during the sacrament I was reading the Ensign and came upon this scripture John 8:29 ... .: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. I just thought that seems to be such a simple way to remember to keep the Lord first in our lives it to use the Savior as an example and always do those things that would please him. I like to keep things simple because it is easier to remember.
