January 2, 2011

Well we ended the year with a bang.

Willard went to Dr. Kaylor's Monday afternoon and he got him an appointment with Dr. Rasmussen office the following morning. I called in for FMLA and went with him. He saw the Nurse Practitioner and she scheduled him for a stress test Wednesday morning but she said the Dr. wouldn't be there to read the test. However, after the stress test of which Willard only lasted about 6 minuets, we were told that the Dr had come in to do some paper work and was going to read the test results. The Dr told Willard his heart didn't look good and that he would schedule him for a Angiogram the following morning. Willard was very concerned that he would have to have open heart surgery. He was very scared.

I thought he needed to have a diversion so I accepted Rosemary Hill's invitation to go over to her house for a dinner group dinner. The Bird's were unable to come and so she invited us. This turned out to be a blessing because Welcome Adams, a former Bishop and John Jeppson, a former member of the stake presidency administered to him which calmed him a bit.

That night about 12 he told me that his chest began to really hurt and the spirit told him to take a nytro pill. It did to the trick and took away his pain. We got up and was down to St. Alphonsus by 10'oclock. We hardly had to wait for the Dr. Willard said he wasn't in there very long until the Dr. said that he was done. He went right to the blockage he found that 95%in his left anterior descending (LAD). He was very blessed that he didn't have a heart attack. Immediately he did an angioplasty and put in a stint. He came home on Friday and just has to lay low for a week for his groin to heal and then back to life as usual but he is going to have to exercise now.

It was certainly a blessing that we go this all done before the end of the year and that it didn't happen when we were traveling around. It was perfectly timed by the Lord. What a miracle! How grateful we are for the tender mercies of our Heavenly Father.

Tayor got engaged officially and is excited. She has picked out her Afghan pattern so now all things are set in motion.

I am just fighting with a strained back. I was putting away some things and wrenched my back. That's what I get for exercising every day.
