June 27, 2010

We booked our tickets for Denver from October 9 to 16th to help Sarah out with her baby. I was surprised at the cost. It was cheaper to Denver than to fly to Seattle. I even have that whole week off. Then in the middle of the night Wednesday, I was woken up with the thought that we needed to go out to help Catrina with the baby's. I found that I could get a whole week off from Dec 4 to 11th and it happens that the flights are the lowest at that time of the month after that they go way up. So now all we have to do is to decided how we are going to go. Southwest which goes to Reno or airlines that fly out of Chicago and they charge baggage fees.

At work the week was going pretty smoothly until I hit Thursday and I think me save rate must have been about 25% . After that day I really felt the need to go to the temple. Usually I go to the 4:30 session but that day I felt that I needed to go to the 4 o'clock session. When I looked around in the chapel I saw my childhood girlfriend Gaylene Steele Elsworth with the husband Bill. It was so good to see her again and go through a session with her. We have been lifelong friends but never has attended a session together. What a tender mercy from the Lord.

Then on Saturday, we went over to Deborah's to give her, her birthday present. I can't believe how time flies by so quickly and children and grandchildren just keep getting older but I don't feel much different. I just wish I would get smarter with age and not make the same dumb mistakes all the time.

After the party, we went to see the show "Knight and a Day" We both enjoyed very much. It was action packed, with romance. It sort of reminded me of a 007 movie but a little funnier. I had gotten a free movie pass from work and so it was a cheep date.

I led the music for Primary instead of playing. I had Nancy play me accompaniment and the kids didn't miss a beat or the turn. Velma, thought that having a more complicated accompaniment might throw off the kids but it didn't bother them at all. They sing so beautifully. I had a great time.
