4/1 to 4/7 At last I am done!

Most of the week we worked in the garden.  My goal was to plant a butterfly garden and get the ground prepared and replant the strawberries.  Also, take out the raspberries that had infiltrated the grass and replant them in the raspberry patches. Willard used the tiller for the first time.  I am so glad he has the strength.  I tried and the tiller got away from me.

For my butterfly garden I found a some bulbs to plant at Lowes and then a lady at Walmart told me that the Oriental Lily's were really fragrant.  So  I got a package of 16 for 10.99 + 10% discount on that due to Senior Day.  It does pay to got on their discount days

My butterfly garden
Thursday after we finally got the ground all prepared, I planted approximately 168 strawberry plants.  I planted them some what close together because I knew some wouldn't make it and I had to make sure I have room for the 60 plants I am getting next week.  I figure if I have to many I can certainly give them away.

My strawberries that I planted.
I love my corner now.  The Tangerine tree is all in bloom and the lilacs are coming on.  I am going to plant some Oriental Lily's there also.

The West Corner. Soon there will be Lilacs and Daisy's.
Saturday. we worked in the raspberries.  We took out the runners from the grass and extended the raspberries on the East fence. We are going to have to add 2 fence post since the raspberries normally on both sides of the fence.

Also, we replanted the West fence area also, since most of the raspberries had died out last year. We are going to take out one of the blackberry bushes that are to close to the raspberries and plant my 3 new Latham berry plants that I am getting with the Strawberries.

Also. on Wednesday, I was in charge of Activity Days.  I brought my rhythm instruments and we did a sound carpet, (that is where each reoccurring word in the story has an instruments assigned to it and it is played when that word is said).  The perfect story is from Daniel 3.  There are so many words that are repeated.  The girls really remembered the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego and the fiery furnace.  Nancy even let me borrow her lap harp.

Friday evening we went to Hailey's Soccer game.  I a was really impressed with the way she was so focused and really didn't let hardly any balls get past her when she was playing the defender position.  In fact, she even took the ball down the whole field and scored a goal.  She was awesome until she fell and opened up her wound on her knew.  The coached kept her on the field because she is such a go getter.  I was proud of her that she didn't dissolve in tears until the game was over.
Hailey intensely engaged.
On the health front, Willard went to Dr. Waldman, and he was informed that he would  be having surgery in 2 weeks hopefully.  They still haven't got him scheduled.  The operation is all done through the Urethra where he will take out the Bladder Stones, and work on other plumping issues.  It is an outpatient surgery and he will just not be able to lift anything for 2 weeks.

Trenton didn't get him MRI done because of the pins in his head.  They still haven't contacted him on what they are going to do next and his leg is getting worse because he worked on it all last week. I hope they can help him soon.

Friday was my last day of treatment!  As I was reflecting on all the things that I had learned from my trials, they were all  very unique to myself.  All of us have trials, and each of us react to them in all different kinds of ways.  Not that one is better than the other, we just can't compare our own reactions to others.  So I will keep them to myself, but I will share what I am very thankful for.  I am thankful that I had chemo first followed by the mastectomy because it gave me time to think and investigate what I wanted to do.  I am so thankful for all the ladies that shared with me their thoughts and experiences and how most of then wished they had had both breast removed.  I thankful for all the great sisters in the ward that gave me support and brought in food.  I am really thankful for Peggy K and Diane S, for their listening ear and great advice.  I am so thankful for my great family and their care, concern, support and prayers.  And most of all I am thankful for a great husband that was there through it all and was always so loving and kind through it all. I am just thankful that it is OVER!

After we got in from working on the garden we listened to Conference and again today.  If I could pick the one message that was mentioned a lot is one of obedience to the commandments.  We can be obedient and have eternal life or not.

After conference Deborah came and got me and we went over to Betty's house to celebrate my end of treatment.  Deborah was gracious enough to do all our toes.  She did a beautiful job on all of our toes.

Aren't they lovely!
