I was very proud of myself I exercised 5 days out of the 6. We had Elizabeth Brower and Savannah Willts over for a missionary dinner. It is missionary month in the ward and we had them over at part of the Mutual Activity. We were suppose to serve food from Willard's North Mexican Mission. But since none of us, except me, Mexican food, we had Americanized Mexican food. A build yourself Taco, with fruit and vegetables. Everyone left full and satisfied.
Laura called up on Sunday, complaining that I hadn't made her and Maddy a hat because she saw all the hats that I made for the other grandkids. I told her that she didn't tell me that she wanted one and I would be glad to make them some. So if anyone else wants a hat just speak up and I will be glad to make one. They only take me about 1 1/2 hours to make. They came over Saturday and picked them up. Notice their matching outfits.
Then Friday morning I was thinking about Taylor and that I would like to make a book of all of her Ancestors because she had shown some interest. I would make one Hill and then one Holsinger book. But first I had to pull together all the stories I had done in one book. So I got the materials that I needed and started to organize the Holsinger book with pedigree charts and the corresponding stories behind it. As I was putting in the stories I found that I was missing a lot of the Holsinger stories. I looked frantically for the hard copies and then the files. But I couldn't find them. Then we went to the evening session of Conference and I kept thinking about my missing files. I was just sick then I had the impression to go back and check a back up disc again. When I got back I found the missing files. But I also found that I had so much more to do.
Then this morning I was impressed that I needed to ask my siblings to share their memories of Grandma Holsinger because I would hate us to go to our grave and not give my grandchildren a more in depth knowledge of her. I loved her dearly. I have heard from Sheran and David so far that they would be glad to share their memories. I am excited about this project.
These are the stories that I have information on and are waiting to be written. I have had the information for about 10 years but I guess the Lord feels it is time to write their stories.
These are the stories that need to be written or illustrated on the Holsinger side
1. Add pictures to LD Holsinger's story, 2. Add memories of Grandma Holsinger, by grandchildren, 3. Update Shively story with new information? 4. Pernell Houston, 5. George Gans Story, 6. Jacob Gans, 7, Wagoner family story, 8. Franklin Kern Holsinger, 9 Alexander Mack Sr, 10 Alexander Mack Jr., 11 Willaim Mack, 12. Polly Mack, 13. Rudolph Holsinger, Henry Kinsey, 15. the Teeter family story, 16. Samuel Ulery, 17. Stephen Uldery,, 18 Fibrun History, 19. Wampler Family, 20 Wolf Story
I know many think why bother, they are dead and who cares about people who lived centuries ago, what do they have to do with me. First, the main reason is that I feel that the Lord wants me to do it and also, when I find out about my ancestors, it adds more depth to my roots. I find strength in knowing that they overcame trials and hardship. I am getting to know them here on earth and I am looking forward to meeting them on the other side. What an exciting reunion it will be!
