The Primary program on the 10/24 was very inspiring. This kids to a wonderful job and Cody and Hailey delivered right on cute. Each of the music people were given a beautiful bouquet of roses.
Then on Tuesday morning life changed for all of us. Deborah called us from Hawaii and ask that we go to her house because Brittney was upset and police were outside the home trying to talk with her but to no avail and Brittney shot herself in the head. However, due to the quick response of the emergency personnel, they were quickly at her side and giving her life giving support. When we got to St. Al's we called down brother Dunkley and he came down and helped Willard give her a priesthood blessing. I knew then she was going to live. We all feel so blessed because of all the love that has been shown to all the family. There were so many groups praying for Brittney. It is certainly a testimony of prayer. There are small miracles constantly happening. Brittney is a live but will be blind and her hearing is damaged on the left side. But we are happy the she is still with us. " All things will work to our good," if we trust in the Lord. Brittney is improving each day. We all just have to take one day at a time.
On Friday I, took some Greentime at work and so was able to go to Hailey and Cody's school parade. It was fun the first one that I have went to for a long time.
In support of Deborah and family, Ben, Holly, Audrey, and Jacob came up and brought Deborah's van up and Sarah fly in. We had a good time. Saturday morning we went to Cody play off games and they won their first game but the last one they lost. After the game the other who were over at Deborah' s cleaning came over on and visited and the men played football. They all felt the pains after playing. Then they dressed up for
Halloween and went to our ward Trunk or Treat. Holly had made Audrey's costume and she was so cute. Ben looked pretty good. We even found costumes for Hunter, Whitney and Garren. It was good to have fun as a family.
Sunday I just slept. I didn't realized the toll that it has taken on my mind. Finally by Sunday afternoon, my mind was coming out of a fog. I just couldn't think very clearly. I tried to make Zucchini Bread for Deborah and forgot the sugar! It was so glad that work had been slow and Greentime was offered.
On November 2, Willard and I officiated at the elections again. Boy, was it busy. Usually we only have just under 400 at the most and this time we had 688. It was almost a 60% voter turn out. We didn't even have time to eat dinner because it was so busy. It is great to see that people were taking the opportunity to vote.
On Friday, Willard went with Trenton and Martha to her disability hearing. The judge asked a few questions and then the rehab person said that she couldn't work. So the lawyer thought that they would rule favorably for Martha. It may take up to 3 months to get it all processed.
Athenia is home from the hospital and is up to 6lbs and Lilith is up to 4lb 6oz. They are hoping to bring her home this week. We are looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks.
Friday afternoon Willard was watching the news and they said that Marcus Shelton was found dead behind some apartments. I couldn't believe it. I called Bonnie to find out if it was her son and sadly it was. Marcus had been suffering with stomach cancer but Bonnie said that he was in good spirits and was feeling pretty good. They were looking forward to a vacation in a condo with him in a few weeks. Bonnie was quite shocked, as well as all the family. They all thought they had more time. Our kids grew up together and my heart breaks for her.
What a couple of weeks. On Saturday we went to the temple. It was so good to feel the peace that is within. I am so thankful there is a temple close by and I know that I can go there and be comforted and leave the worldly cares behind. I know that the Lord loves His children and has provided all with a plan to find the happiness that we seek. I am so thankful for our Heavenly Father and the atoning sacrifice of His son that we can find forgiveness if we repent of our sins and He will remember them no more.
