Catch up to Feb 20

I have decided to start this blog because Linda showed me what she did with her blog. She downloaded her whole blog including pictures from the web sight http://blog2print.sharedbook.com/. I thought it would be a pretty cool way to keep a journal.

So I am going to start at January, which started with laryngitis. I just hoped I could sing at Stake Conference on the 10th. It was a little scratchy but it was wonderful singing up such a wonderful conductor. We are really blessed to have such wonder musicians in the Stake. That evening Cody had his baptism preview. Deborah said the opening prayer and did a beautiful job. Buck who had just had knee surgery that Monday, went the extra mile, and came in support. I felt so bad for him because he was in a lot of pain. Cody was so excited to find out that he would turn 8 on the day of his baptism.

The next Sunday the 17th was Ward Conference, and it was excellent, Bishop Barney gave me insights and the choir sang beautifully. The Nancy Cotter offered 2 tickets to the Boise Philharmonic. Since Brittney was grounded, I asked her to go with me. We went to Chiles and then to program. We had a great time. Britney is such a sweet girl. She is so much fun to talk with. In fact I had such a great time that I was excited to find out that I got the shift that I wanted Monday, through Friday from 5:44 to 2:15. I then would have time to have the grandkid over on the weekends. She also came over the next Sunday and I taught her how to make bread. She was quite pleased with it and shared it with the ladies at Deborah’s Pampered Chief Party. It was a big hit. I really enjoyed myself at her party. She has a lot of very nice friends and Deborah is such a good host.

I had an experience that I was thankful that I listened to the spirit. Jen Kaylor who is a sister that comes to our ward part time since she is separating from her husband ( my doctor), said in Relief Society that all she wanted for her birthday was chocolate, so I felt impressed to take her over some chocolate. Well it turned out that was just the thing she needed because when I went over she was feeling pretty down because her husband had the kids. We had a good talk and I discovered much about her and how we could help each other. Then the next Sat, she was going to come over I was going to help her with some Family History after work. I had to stop over at Laura’s house and so one my way home since I drove right passed her house I thought I might as well stop in. She came to the door and I could see that she had been crying and had called to tell me she wasn’t coming over. I was so glad that I had listen to the spirit and was able to give her some comfort that day.

I really have had a strong desire to my grand kids and so one morning when I get all my inspiration, the idea came to my mind to ask those who are long distance if they could pay for one ticket and we would pay for one. So I called Tobin and asked if they would buy a ticket. He agreed and we found that Feb. 12th through the 15th would work the best. I got the time off and we were all set.

On Feb 12th I got off work and got to the plane by 3 and landed at 4:15. The next day we went to the Music and SiFi museum. Linda and I both enjoyed the photo of old musicians. I thought of Ben because the most of the Museum was about guitars and great guitarist. Bryce is quite the musician and a performer and our group photo shows. Valen and Zane had been there before but loved coming back over and over again. The boys were great. So sweet, I just have really great grandchildren. Of course, they came from great parents. Then Tobin took us out to a Japanese Restaurants that they fixed the food right in front of you: great food and fun.

Then on Monday we went on the Northwest Trek. It was great. We road a tram around and saw bison, sheep, moose and elk. One thing I learned was that the antlers from the moose, dear and elk have calcium in them and when the antlers fall off they provide calcium for the little creatures to chew on and provides them their nutrients.

We had such a good time with the family. It was great to visit with Sheran and meet Austin. He is so big and has such a vivacious spirit which seems typical in this family. I am so thankful for Tobin's generiosity. It was great to spend time with them and get to know each of them better.
